The Recruiting War

"We're in a recruiting war with the insurgency," said Brig. Gen. Robert Neller, the deputy Marine commander in western Iraq.

Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said al-Qaida, "...appeals to Iraqis in desperate social and economic situations while projecting a civic-minded image". What *is* America doing for Iraq's social and economic situation?

We keep killing innocent people and we wonder why they aren't throwing flower petals at our feet. Where is the joyous celebration we were promised - oh, right - that lasted for a photo-op when the statue tumbled.

Isn't it about time that people admitted that the military solution is the wrong solution? Oh, right...President Bush is the "War President", nevermind.
